Detailed Site investigation
A Detailed Site Investigation (also known as Phase 2, Phase 3 Environmental Site Assessment) occurs when the Preliminary Site Investigation has identified risks of contamination and requires further investigation.
Depending on the purpose of investigation and the information provided in the Preliminary Site Investigation, the environmental consultant would the appropriate number of locations for intrusive soil sampling and/ or groundwater monitoring wells to be installed.
A Detailed Site Investigation should be appropriately scoped so it would be time and cost effective and site specific. A Detailed Site Investigation could form part of the Environmental Due Diligence process or part of the Environmental Audit, it could also be a document requested by local government insurer or financial institutes based on different causes.
